The Good Ship,
The Good Ship, GRACE

The good ship, GRACE, is sailing. Her voyage is hard and long,
But at her wheel stands the Captain who steers with an arm that is strong.
At times, His hand is heavy, as He firmly steers her course . . .
Straight into the gales and storms with winds of a hurricane's force.

Sometimes, His hand is gentle as she sails on the quiet seas,
But He always steers her rightly, and He knows how to catch the breeze.
The ship need not anchor in harbor; to come on board, just call.
For the Captain seeks to rescue and she's a large enough ship for all.

The ship, called GRACE, is sailing; we all need to get on board . . . .
There's just One who can pay our passage: He is Jesus Christ, the Lord.
Those adrift in unworthy vessels, and all who have lost their way,
Need only to hail the Captain, and then come on board to stay.

Though His Father owns the vessel, Christ paid our full passage cost.
No traveler may stow away, nor willing patron be lost.
Once the ship crosses the ocean and her anchor is dropped at home,
No rider may board the vessel, and never again will she roam.

For now, the Captain still searches for those lost in the sea called Sin.
There's still time to enter the vessel; there's refuge through the Captain within.
You need not be strong or worthy. No traveler their price can pay,
He is able to lift any soul on board. If you're willing, He's paid your way.

Only One really knows for certain how long the ship, GRACE, will sail.
So be wise and call on the Captain; to delay, may cause you to fail!
God's Word gives us every assurance that the ship is worthy at sea,
But once it enters home's harbor, there's no chance to enter there, free.
OurEcho is a FREE SERVICE dedicated to capturing and sharing the individual "bits and pieces" that define our local communities.
