At times, we feel alone in our battle. But we're never alone. No matter how high the waves beat against our ship, how tattered our sail, He's on board to keep us--even in the midst of the storm. I've found this to be true in my life. He doesn't always calm the storm; sometimes He just calms His child while the storm rages on. Either way, in Him, we win. I hope this inspires you as much has it has me. Janet

The waves grew wild
‘til I felt like a child
sailing a toy on violent sea.
My ship was frail
and was bound to fail,
I cried, "What will become of me?"

I was full of fear.
I felt my eyes tear.
My heart was filled with doubt.
The sky was black!
I longed to go back,
I could not turn my ship about.

I was tired and worn
and feeling forlorn,
I had battled the storm so long.
‘Twas a treacherous gale,
that filled my sail,
and the winds of life were strong!

I knew I had failed,
but the storm prevailed,
and there was no hope in sight.
I was in despair,
thinking who would care
if my ship was lost in the night?

Then high above
from His cross of love
He shone His light about.
He led the way;
He helped me stay;
He saved my ship without a doubt.

All would have been lost
at a terrible cost
if I hadn't seen His light.
Now, wherever I sail,
if the winds prevail,
I'm surely keep Him in sight.
OurEcho is a FREE SERVICE dedicated to capturing and sharing the individual "bits and pieces" that define our local communities. It might be a bit of interesting local history, an old photograph, a special memory or just a funny story. We are particularly interested in those fascinating and intriguing events/people (both large and small) that we all encounter as part of the human experience. It might be something that happened recently or something passed down to you through your family. Our goal is to provide a forum for local communities to share who they are through their stories and photographs. When you take the time to share these reflection with others, you help us better understand you, the world we live in, and if we are lucky, they help us better understand ourselves.
