Verity
After all is said and done
Before the summer’s end
Cradling our broken
Dreams when
Everything is dead, after all the
Fires fade and
Greatness falls to ashes,
Happiness a whispered rumor
In the seas of deadmen’s tears
Just to
Keep
Low spirits full through
Meand’ring years, when
No one’s sure what
Once they knew, and what the
Point is now, when everyone’s a bloodless
Queen of hearts and Love is
Rare, all but forgotten
Shunning rays of daylight just
To follow trails of stars
Until the last black dreams of
Verity are
Wiped clean from all our minds, a
Xenogenetic society, free from rights of birth,
Yet undeterred from pursuing dreams of our own plastic-smiled
Zealotry.
