I look down upon you
As you sleep so angelically
I watch you as you breathe
So quiet, so tiny, so soft
Are you.

My new grandchild
Welcome to our family
How special and important
Are you.

I know that you will change so quickly
Before I know you will crawl,
Ride a bike, and play ball.

Your birth provides us with
Our next new generation
A legacy of sorts.

The extension of ourselves
Welcome baby generation three
Live, laugh, and love your life
And welcome to our world!
