January`s own special beauty.
Looking out on our garden on this bitter cold January evening, my heart goes out to the wild birds in search of food. Just before darkness I watch these tiny creatures picking from the bird table in the bitter easterly breeze. Just as darkness descends, the last to leave is my little pet robin who always comes to the window sill flapping her wings in the icy air as if to say "goodbye" till tomorrow.
Our dog "Snowey", a huskie of one year peeps out nosely from his bed of straw in his snow-white coat and eyes full of mischief.
As the dark evening falls I pull down the blinds and wallow in the indoor aroma of beef- curry and all the trimmings which I prepared earlier. Hunger engulfs me as it wafts through our entire home, teasing my tastebuds.
Hubby and myself sit in at table as the log fire blazes and throws its welcomed heat all around.
Our pet cat " Lucky " sleepily gazes at the flickering flames and purrs contentedly.
I feel the wholesome food thoroughly lifting my spirits and the satisfied expression on my husbands face as he tucks in, says it all.
If only I thought to myself, the people in deprived parts could enjoy a tiny piece of such simple comforts, what a wonderful world it would be.
