One of many "Most Embarassing Moments"

Story ID:2823

Year:1996
Person:me, teacher
It was lunch time and the middle school office was busy. Parents were enrolling a new student, students were dropping off lunch money, teachers were checking their box for mail, the secretaries were answering the phone and the principal was speaking with a parent and student. It was a fairly typical, busy lunch hour.

I was taking advantage of the time to run some copies of a handout that I needed for the next day's class. While waiting for my papers to copy, I was looking around the room.

One minute I was calmly standing next to the copier and the next moment I was sitting on the floor with my right foot pointed forward and my left foot behind in a full splits.

The really embarassing part was when I realized that I was wearing a dress with my short heeled shoes. I scrambled to get up and looked around to see that everyone was looking straight my way.

No one said a word, the office was quiet. Should I wait for the copies to finish or pretend I was done and leave right then?
OurEcho is a FREE SERVICE dedicated to capturing and sharing the individual "bits and pieces" that define our local communities. It might be a bit of interesting local history, an old photograph, a special memory or just a funny story. We are particularly interested in those fascinating and intriguing events/people (both large and small) that we all encounter as part of the human experience. It might be something that happened recently or something passed down to you through your family. Our goal is to provide a forum for local communities to share who they are through their stories and photographs. When you take the time to share these reflection with others, you help us better understand you, the world we live in, and if we are lucky, they help us better understand ourselves.
