Life After 40-In another year my last child would be 18 years old and I had a job making decent money. I had to bring Shannon back home because he was having problems in Michigan. He was also having bad luck with girls as well. He has always had a bad temper and I was hoping he would one day grow up and become a decent man. Darryl Jr. was still in Michigan and I was hoping he would soon move down too. In 2003 we went to Florida to see Jennifer and her family. Florida had not changed much at all. Timothy and Darryl Jr. went with us,Daryl Jr. had come down for a visit and Jennifer wanted to see him,it had been a few years since they had seen each other. Shannon was working which was a good thing. Darryl Jr. had gotten into some trouble and was going to have to stay in Michigan for a while. But he had finally met someone he cared about and in July 2004 he was going to become a father. Darryl Lee,III was born on July 20,2004 and he was beautiful,I was a grandmother. In August of 2004 I had to have surgery for a low potential tumor of the ovaries. I had a total hysterectomy on August 26,2004 the day before my birthday. Jennifer could not come up for my surgery but Darryl Jr. did come down and stay for a few days. The recovery was very difficult but I made it through it. I went back to work after 6 weeks. But immediately I started having problems with my health. I started having tingling and burning in my legs and feet,but my doctor said they did not cut on any nerves. Richard had to have foot surgery in December of 2004. It seemed like our health was going down hill. We had worked third shift for 5 years and switched to second shift. We did this in March of 2005. On July 21,2005 we were rear ended and our car was totaled. Of course we made it through this ordeal and we got us a trailblazer that we were in love with. Richard and I were still overcoming obstacles in our lives,but we were doing it together and it always seem to make us stronger. By the year 2006 I was talking to my family a lot and making visits to see them. I was getting real close to my father again and had been going to the cemetary to visit my mother on Mother's Day. Jennifer was wanting to move up and in Febuary of 2006 she and her family came up for a visit to look at some houses. I was really happy about this. I felt like Jennifer and I were getting close again. Richard and I had been seeing some places we had always wanted to see. We had been to a couple of caves and had been to Grandfather Mountain. We had did some much deserved traveling,that we were not able to do in the past. I was still dealing with health issues but was taking a step at a time.
