This is an update of my poem, "For Bobby". This Tuesday I was notified, by counsel for Governor Minner of Delaware, that she had ignored the recommendations of the Boards of Parole and Pardons and denied Bobby's application for a commutation of his life sentence. I spoke with my client over the telephone on Wednesday from my home in Mexico. He was, as usual, upbeat and determined to press on for a positive recommendation from the next Governor after the elections in 2008. I asked that he notify his elderly Aunt Margaret, who has held a room in her home for him. I could not bear to break her heart too.
