Something to share with OurEcho community: Kathe Campbell's got another star in her writer's crown. Kathe has a story in a just released anthology from the Chicken Soup publishers. Her story about her husband's tuxedo is a delight and can be found in Chicken Soup For the Dieter's Soul, now in bookstores. Kathe has been published in many of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. They are piled on her coffee table in a stack that rises higher and higher. The editors obviously recognize Kathe's talent and wit. Maybe one day she'll have an entire book of her stories to add to the coffee table.

I have a story in Chicken Soup for the Dieter's Soul, also. It's one about staying on my husband's cardiac diet following his serious heart attack. Imagine my surprise when the book arrived in my mail yesterday. Why surprise? Because the editor had never let me know my story had been accepted. It was a pretty nice early Christmas gift. This is the third Chicken Soup for the Soul book for me. I've got to get going to get up to Kathe's numbers. My stack is not nearly as high as hers.

OurEcho is a FREE SERVICE dedicated to capturing and sharing the individual "bits and pieces" that define our local communities. It might be a bit of interesting local history, an old photograph, a special memory or just a funny story. We are particularly interested in those fascinating and intriguing events/people (both large and small) that we all encounter as part of the human experience. It might be something that happened recently or something passed down to you through your family. Our goal is to provide a forum for local communities to share who they are through their stories and photographs. When you take the time to share these reflection with others, you help us better understand you, the world we live in, and if we are lucky, they help us better understand ourselves.
