Paying Forward

Christmas time is here.
"I'm asked" what do I want?
"I think" what do I need?
I have friends, and loved ones,
And I look beyond myself.
I look to others, and not at me.

GOD gave up His son,
So that we'd all be free.
Christmas time is here,
Open my eye's LORD, and let me see.
There are other things,
More important than just me.

There are children, on my street.
They have no toys beneath a tree,
No Dad, No Mom, no joys they'll see.
There's family's living on the street.
They have no shoes or socks to warm their feet,
No fire to keep them warm.
No food to fill their emptyness,
No love to fill their void.

I pray for our loved ones over seas,
That you will bring them back, safe and free.
Their in a foreign land, you know.
Their far away from home.
Oh! they'll sing songs,
And have a tree,
But their hearts will be here with family.

There's Fathers fighting to keep a job,
A job that pays to little.
Children and family's suffering illnesses,
People setting alone in empty rooms.
They have no-one to cheer their lonely days, and nights.

Christmas time is here LORD,
I ask nothing for myself,
For I have all I need.
But my dear LORD, I ask for the family down the street,
For those who have no homes,
For those who have no socks, and shoes upon their feet.

I ask that you sweet JESUS, make a way,
That I and others will find a way to pay forward.
For all we have, we will gladly share.
It's Christmas time again Dear LORD,
And this year I pray that I have what it takes, to see,
All the special things you've given me.

May I be blessed, and able to share,
So that others not like me,
Will have the things, for which I have no need.
From my heart I pray,
That no child will go without,
That no Mother or Father will shed tears,
On this! the most glorious day of the year.

It's Christmas time again,
So I thank you LORD,
For all I see,
For others are giving, just like me.

OurEcho is a FREE SERVICE dedicated to capturing and sharing the individual "bits and pieces" that define our local communities. It might be a bit of interesting local history, an old photograph, a special memory or just a funny story. We are particularly interested in those fascinating and intriguing events/people (both large and small) that we all encounter as part of the human experience. It might be something that happened recently or something passed down to you through your family. Our goal is to provide a forum for local communities to share who they are through their stories and photographs. When you take the time to share these reflection with others, you help us better understand you, the world we live in, and if we are lucky, they help us better understand ourselves.
