Woodsy

Sometime ago my daughter gave me a woodsy style clock she bought at a garage sale. It was missing the batteries and the hands of the clock were slightly bent. I could see why my daughter thought I’d like it, since we live in a log home, plus I love nature. I also collect bird items.

This clock had 12 different birds or animals around the face of the clock where the numbers for hours would normally be. Last night I put batteries in the clock to see if would work, straightening the hands, then set it to the correct time. I quickly found that the clock made sounds matching the different animals.

At first I thought the computer room would be great place for the clock but then worried all those strange noises might keep me a wake since our bedroom is just next door. I carried the clock down the hallway, headed to the back utility bathroom. As I passed through the living room I noticed my husband standing at the siding-door with just his head stuck outside. I asked what he was doing & he replied, “I thought I heard a coyote……”
Looking down at the woodsy clock in my hand I couldn’t help laughing.

I'm not surprise my husband thought the sound was real, since just this week we saw a big raccoon, plus a skunk in our yard and a snake in the mailbox.

Life on Moss Creek is like a new adventure every day.
