I wasn't missing you

IŽve been told I drink too much,
that perhaps I need to stop.
I donŽt believe I drink enough,
think IŽll have just one more drop.

I like being in this place,
no one minds if I donŽt dance.
They ignore the tears on my face,
they pretend to understand.

The bartender likes me,
he lets me sleep on the bar.
He gives me drink or two for free,
and he walks me to my car.

YouŽve been gone a long time,
so how come youŽre here now?
You were almost off my mind,
I drank you away somehow.

Why are you asking to come home?
I really donŽt think you should.
I like to watch T.V. and drink alone,
having you around wouldn't be so good.

No, I think you should leave,
and you should stay away.
IŽve got some memories to deceive,
and alot of drinking to do today.

Cuz,I wasn't missing you,
but now my buzz is gone.
I need another drink or two,
Sometimes the memories are strong.
