August 31, 2006 Part 2, The Cats
Diana had a great idea. She decided that with us being gone for a long weekend, we should bring Bitsy and Levi up to stay with her and Bennie in Emporia for the weekend. Hmmm. Is this a fantastic idea or does it just reak of diaster?
David and I considered and decided to give it a try, thinking they're both young enough to be adaptable.
They were the last things to grab and go out the door. Levi was gorging himself on the soft food we left out for Bailey for the weekend so he was too busy licking his lips to put up any fight. Bitsy likes to go outside and in the motorhome, so no problem right? It became clear to us fairly quickly that going into the motorhome when it was running was a completely different matter.
Moving pat that rapidly (much faster than the wounds will heal) the cats objected strongly and loudly to any movement of the motorhome. Levi finally settled on the dash which is the hottest part of the unit, which meant that he promptly overheated. Between that and his littl full tummy, he was one sick little kitty.
Bitsy was loud and restless and finally insisted that Levi and I both lie on the floor with her. And there we stayed until we got to Emporia.
It was a much quieter trip after that!
