My Whispering Pines

My whispering pines murmur in the morning light. They are restful to my troubled soul and makes my days seem bright. They can whisper in the gentle rain or roar when storms arrive. But through it all the pines are a place of safety to the mourning doves. I love the dove’s pleasant coos as it echoes through the dense foliage of the pines. A feeling of peace slips over my mind, surely it could be beneficial to all mankind.

My whispering pines sigh in the soft night breeze. Then just before the dawn the pines come alive as birds greet the new day with songs. The awakening bird’s serenade overpowers the subdued whispering of the rugged pine needles. This resumption of life causes my heart to surge in a renewal of my own life each day.

During the heat of the day an occasional Cardinal or Blue Jay will visit the pines. They add a flash of red and blue to the pine’s solid green color, while adding solace to my weary eyes. Even a short stroll through the sheltered aisles revives my spirit so I can cope with life’s daily tasks.

In the evening I love to set near the pines and listen to the rustling and twitting as the multitude of feathered friends settle for the night in the safe haven of the closely nestled pines. All is well in their world and they bring a feeling of peace and comfort to mine.
