BELLA & HOGAN
By,
Kathleene S. Baker
Napping on the forest floor,
I was a brand new baby fawn.
Anxiously waiting for my mama,
Yet, still alone come the dawn.
Forlorn, I began to wander,
Despite being filled with fear.
Hungry, weak, and tired,
I sensed the end was near.
Then I awoke snug and warm,
Sharing a soft, plush bed.
Being tended to by Hogan,
Who lavished kisses on my head.
How I thrived with Hogan’s care,
He was my guiding light.
When we parted two hearts broke,
But he visits my dreams at night.
At long last I frolic in the forest,
Just as Mother Nature planned.
Hogan spends days as a loving pet
And the best friend known to man.
As a side note, the owner of a large website sent me these photos and asked me to write a poem for him to post. Whoa! I was scared at first. But, I looked at those two precious critters and the words just flooded my brain! :-)
