My own Darling Lillie.
Pen can not write nor tongue
can not speak, the greatness
of my love for you.
I love you so darling that
life without you would not
be worth living.
I dream of thee, I sigh for thee
and Darling if the (?) must
be, I would die for thee.
And Lillie never will I be happy
until we are man and wife
for I know we will be happy
then. Dearest Lillie the tears
from my eyes are falling,
and my hand is trembling
so for the love of you,
I cannot write any more. Your True lover
now & forever.
A.M. Patterson, March 14, 1898
It must have been true love! This photo is of my grandparents and their 11 children...
