We Miss the Rainbow

We Miss the Rainbow
©2004, Janet K. Poludniak

God put His bow around us,
so when the storms pass by
we would recall His promise
to hear our faintest cry.

But oft' we miss the rainbow,
‘cause our eyes are on the storm,
or we may fail to see it
‘cause our hearts with sin are worn.

We must fix our eyes on Jesus
whatever may be our plight,
and know that He will keep us
even through the darkest night.

Nothing is too hard for Him;
each promise He'll fulfill,
but we must trust Him and obey
when He says, "Child, be still!"

If we look for the rainbow,
we'll see it there—and more—
‘cause Jesus knows the way He leads,
He's traveled there before!
