Ocean of dreams

Ocean of dreams

Interrupting the twilight
With thoughts of the night,
And waving goodbye
As the day drifts from sight,
With the statuesque stance
Of a ship on the sea,
That carves through the shadows
And brings you to me.

Through the darkness of hours
Peep the minutes of light,
Like a seafaring vessel
With sails shining white,
And the sun speckled edges
That call out to me,
Scatter gold everywhere
On that soft shining sea.

While the black silk of evening
So perfectly swirls,
With a moon echoed sky
Full of silver soft pearls,
I can feel your eyes dance
In the depths of my heart,
With the velvet refrain
Of a love soon to start.

As those wine satin curtains
Throw wide to the day,
And my eyes slowly open
As morning mists play,
I can still smell your fragrance
Escaped from the dark,
And it makes my soul fly
Like the rise of a lark…
