The photo with the frog reminds me of how Satan would try to devour us. In Christ, we have nothing to fear. The photo was taken by my dear friend, Wanda White-Cohen and is used by permission.
Christ Has Won!
Copyright 2004, Janet K. Poludniak
The place was darkness all about.
Deafening was their victory shout!
"We've killed the King of kings! We've won!
We've crucified God's only Son!
We crushed man's hope; quenched His breath.
God's Victor, swallowed up in death.
The World's mine!" Satan yelled, "I reign!
Redemption's threat forever slain!"
A smell of sulfur filled the air!
Fierce laughter echoed everywhere!
Suddenly, their loud revelry
STOPPED
for Light their eyes could see!
As through a pin hole It came at first,
but in a moment, His brightness
BURST
and all the darkness disappeared
as thundering footsteps could be heard!
They tried to shield their eyes from
LIGHT,
resisting God with all their might,
but as the King of kings drew near,
their chants of victory turned to fear!
Light, from the brightness of His face,
filled every corner of the place.
Not one creature could evade;
they could not hide from God's tirade!
The King of kings just stood His ground!
Vile creatures shuddered all around!
As Jesus' nail scarred hand secured
the keys of Hell and Death, they heard
His voice ring out: "My blood's the price!
I AM sin's perfect Sacrifice!
There's nothing left for man to pay;
My blood will wash all sin away!"
Satan knew that Christ had won;
he'd been defeated by God's Son.
His anger boiled! He would repay,
would steal the souls of men away!
But his only power lies in deceit;
that's all he has to bring defeat
to those who will believe his lie!
Many have listened; and so did I!
But now I know that Christ is real,
my faith's not based on what I feel.
For Christ is Truth and Faith and Love!
He is that Light from God above.
Now Christ is shouting,
"VICTORY!"
He paid sin's price for you, for me;
and we can join Him in the shout
for Christ has won—there is no doubt!
Jesus won the greatest battle of all.
The enemy of our soul is defeated;
our God reigns! In Christ, we win.
Isaiah 54:17 says that winning
"is the heritage of those who serve the Lord."
