I look into the mirror and what do I see?
I see a stranger looking back at me.
Sunken eyes and wrinkled face,
bad memories that time can't erase.

A lifetime of sorrow and pain,
fog settles and clouds my brain.
I still have hope and reach for tomorrow.
But I fear it will bring more sadness and sorrow.

I can only live from day to day.
My soul in Heaven, to God I pray.
Lies are true and the truth lies,
my heart hardens while my mother cries.

This is my destiny since before I was born.
If I passed today, no one would mourn.
These thoughts I have are for my own protection.
This is how I perceive myself, in my own self reflection.
