Our Patroness/Feastday February 1st

Tomorrow is Saint Brigids day,
The Patroness of Ireland,
I dwell on her along my way,
In this our lovely island.

I ask Saint Brigid to stay near,
To grant good health and peace,
Happiness through all the years,
And for love to never cease.

But most of all I ask her for,
A very special favour,
I`ll keep it between myself and Her,
And hope it`s granted later.

She knows about it for a while,
I now whisper it again,
And pray now as I write these lines,
That all is not in vain

My request may go unanswered,
For only God can tell,
But I`ll pray as time now passes,
And hope one day it will.

Will those who read this little poem,
Where ever you may be,
Whether young or whether old,
Offer up a prayer for me.

That God will heed our Patroness,
And listen to Her call,
And grant to me this request,
For the benefit of all.
