Danielle, my 11 year old daughter and I had been staying at this beautiful hotel in Atlanta. The weather had been bad and I was in training all day.
Danielle had the run of the hotel. She had figured out every nook and cranny in that huge beautiful place.
It was lunch time and I was supposed to be in main confrence room listening to a speaker but I wanted to be with Danielle. I had to go look for my little girl.
Earlier I had given her some money to buy her own lunch. She had been sitting in the court yard eating a sensible lunch. She was so proud of herself that she had gotten all that food but did not spend all she had.
I just looked at her in amazement and realized at that moment she was no longer my helpless little girl. She was turning into a young lady right in front of my eyes.
That afternoon we had decided to venture off and see what was behind the hotel. We had stumbled on to a little creek with a waterfall.
Danielle asked if I had some change because she wanted to make a wish.
I handed her two nickles. She took one and handed the other back and said,"Here mom I know you would like to make a wish also."
She proceeded to go her own way.
I started taking pictures of her and just watching how my little girl was growing up and was able to take care of herself.
She then came back close to me and asked if I had made my wish yet?
I took my nickle, made my wish and then tossed it the water.
Danielle looked over at me and said."Mom I know what you wished for."
I said," Oh You do huh? Ok, what was it I wished for?"
"Same thing I did, for daddy to come home" she replied.
Tears just welled up in my eyes and all I could say is. "Yes baby You're right. Where did you get so much wisdom for a such a little girl?"
She then looked over at a squirrel or something and went chasing after it.
I could not move, tears poured down my face.
My little girl had the faith that could move moutains and she showed me that day.
