If happiness were a color,
It would be the shifting shades of blue
As a deep lake viewed from a kayak.
If happiness were a taste
It would be just like clam chowder on a chill, rainy day.
If happiness were a feeling,
It would be as relaxing as sitting surrounded by tall trees.
If happiness were a smell,
It would be sweet as old-fashioned roses
creating a carpet by my deck.
If happiness were a sound,
It would be the uniquely haunting call of a loon
celebrating a New England summer.
(photos I took this summer in New Hampshire with a Canon A550)
