Calling All Writers To Attend: Kansas Authors Club’s 103’rd Annual Convention and Writing Conference will be held October 5-7, 2007. The Conference theme is “Pen Life as Art, Write from the Heart,” at the Holiday Inn Select, 549 S. Rock Rd Wichita, KS. A great mix of workshop speakers is offered to interest all writers from prose to poetry: Joyce Livingston, Inspirational Romance; Robert Beattie, Crime writing; Daniel Spees, Poetry; Carol Reynolds, Haiku; Mike Klaassen, Scene and Sequel; Deb Seely & Christie Breault, Children's Stories; Annette Wood & Roxie Olmstead, Non Fiction Publishing; Frankie Roland, Inspirational Writing. Saturday Night banquet keynote speaker is Raymond Stanley (Stan) Nelson Jr., Museum Specialist Emeritus, Smithsonian Institution National Museum of American History. Nelson's career has focused on the history of printing technology, with an emphasis on methods employed during the first four centuries of printing. His particular focus is on typefounding. He is currently working on a book about this history and the use of type moulds, called The Typefounders' Handmould.
