WONDER PERSONIFIED
Having spent many holidays touring the spectacuar "Ring Of Kerry" I am again somehow drawn back to this magical place. I am absolutely haunted by the exquisite misty blue mountains, magical waterfalls and idyllic lakes. I wonder as I admire such magnificent scenery how in God`s name the poor people felt in famine times being forced to emigrate in search of work. I can imagine how heartbroken and lonely they were leaving kerry and their families behind. The towns and villages nesteled in along the Ring of Kerry, such as Sneem, Kenmare, Kilorglin, Waterville,
Glenbeig, Cahersiveen, and of course Killarney, to my mind are worlds apart from anywhere I have ever seen. Their people are so friendly, one would think they knew you all their lives.. Killarney has something very special, and when we have only a short break, we take in all the views and friendliness there. Driving to the upper lake, we spend some time viewing the breath taking scenery cascading off the Torc mountain top. I really want to stay forever in this paradise. When I was just a child I often heard the song "Heaven reflects Killarney", I loved that song, and knew I had to realise a dream and one day see Killarney. I now know for sure that Kerry, and in particular Killarney, surely is Heavens own reflection. Thank providence for wonders like these, for the friendly people, and for the excellent service shown to us in this stunning place. I sincerely hope against hope that most emigrants got back to live in their blissful homeland once again.
