This is a poem I wrote as I sat with my family watching T.V on the eleventh of September 2001.
My feelings are written down just as they came to my heart and mind.

THE SADDEST SEPTEMBER.

On a bright September morning,
Beneath the autumn sun,
Without one moments warning,
Evil deeds were coldly done.

To human beings so innocent,
Going on life`s way,
Then in just an instant,
Lives were cruelly swept away.

Shocked in utter disbelief,
We watched our t.v. screens,
And found it dreadful to believe,
The horrific deathly scenes.

In that peaceful caring nation,
So dear to irish hearts,
When in times of emigration,
We were welcomed in all parts.

As we watched the devistation,
By callous evil acts,
We felt total condemnation,
So deep within our hearts.

Now in sorrow in Kilkenny,
We join You U.S.A,
And pray longside so many,
On this sad September day.
