The Paraffin Lamp is the name of my book of poems. It contains 39 poems and 4 songs. Here is the Title Poem. THE PARAFFIN LAMP There you now stand In proud elegant style, Just as you stood When I was a child. I remember your light And your soft gentle glow, as we struggled with homework In the sweet lond ago. Down all the years Your shadow light, So soft and so peaceful, shone all through the night. So still in our home though now we `ve all grown, There `s a snug little spot that you call your own. You show off your globe Each day of the week, And you glow with the pride Of a special antique. You shine your light now at great special times, And not just for reading Those boring school lines. You sine it at Easter Yuletide and New Year, Transporting us back, To times we hold dear. O there you now stand, In proud elegant style, Just as you stood, When I was a child. |
