The Jigsaw Puzzle of Life

One big happy family is an understatement at best
A mother whose devotion has built this frenzied nest
A morbid sense of humor, dedicated to our throne
Without our main piece of this puzzle, our fate would be unknown

Our father he’s a comedian, in every sense of the word
His selflessness and compassion; feeling invisible, not heard
Cussing and ranting at the simplest tasks in life
Never thinking of himself; only his children, grand-children and wife

The oldest sibling out of three is a hard-working soul
An entrepreneur in every sense always achieving his goals
Passive and lenient his family comes first, always giving his time
Working seven days a week well within his prime

The middle child and only daughter stuck between two “boys”
Never feeling appreciated; trying to fill a void
First in the family to go to college; becoming educated and well known
Still searching for her sense of belonging; even though she’s all grown

The baby of the family and that baby still remains
With his lack of responsibility and spending what he gains
The heart of a lion; very strong and very brave
Just a tad bit naïve in life, just waiting to be saved

Four grandsons and eight grand-daughters keep the puzzle in tact
Non-stop adventures and activities; always running within a pack
One has gone off to college; the remainder will follow her lead
Instilling values upon our children; always teaching them to succeed

Our children are our future and our family may be a little inane
But for one to have a finished puzzle, one must first experience pain
Our puzzle is completed; the pieces are all a perfect fit
This jigsaw puzzle we have created, is a piece of history to submit
