Chelsea Leigh

Take my words, expose them as lies
I want to be wrong, I want to be denied
Show me I’m mistaken and that I’ve lied all along
Show me what your not, and prove me to be wrong

Tell me you want more out of this life
More than just saying you want to do what’s right
I don’t want to hear what you think I’d like
What I want to hear from you is “mom you’re not right”

Lies become stronger and more powerful with time
Don’t fall into this trap of manipulative crime
So Chelsea Leigh, what else can I do?
Then to prove to my daughter that you’re amazing too

Contrary to your beliefs and your condescending views
You’ve failed to realize I’ve always been watching you
Observing and listening to your each and every move
Giving you love and guidance, watching you improve

So call me a liar, and illustrate your new approach
Confirm your new identity without me to coach
I now see the talent, I’ve tried to set free
I now see the daughter, who no longer resembles me
