My middle son Shannon has a real warm heart when it comes to me. I must say that this really suprises me so much I always thought that he would be cold toward me. I always blamed myself for his father taking so long to accept him as his. Shannon has always been very smart and intelligent and could be anything he desires to be. Over the last 2-3 Mother's Days and birthdays he has bought me the most heart warming cards they make me want to cry. They are cards like a husband would buy for his wife of a lot of years. I know sometimes in the past he has kept a lot of things to himself about how he feels and lately he seems to really care about how I am doing. He told me recently that he just wants the best for me as a mother. I worried about Shannon for a long time because he was really having a hard time growing up but I believe now at the age of 24 he is finally on his way to becoming a fine young man. He is still very head strong and will argue with the best of them but he just does it in an adult manner now. I know my children had it hard growing up and deserved better than I gave them but I always gave them love. Shannon is a very special and sweet person and the best son that a mother could ask for and I hope he knows how much I love him and all of my children. I hope that when I leave this world one day my children will continue the love that our family has. It is unconditional love meaning you love no matter what has happened in the past.
