The Year That Would Change My Life-By 2006 I was working at a different job making half the money that I use to. I had to leave my previous job because of health issues. It seemed like emotional stress was making it hard to work. I was excited that Jennifer and her family were moving up to North Carolina. Richard and I had made several trips to visit my father. In August Jennifer and her family moved up and stayed with us until they could move into their house in Henderson. In September I quit working because my headaches were so bad I had to go to the doctor. I was happy though because Darryl Jr. and his family were coming for a visit. I was finally going to get to see my grandson. He was 2 and a half years old and I had only seen him in pictures. They came down for Thanksgiving and we went to see my father,he was so excited. He had not seen Darryl Jr. since he was young. I hated to see them go back home. But I enjoyed the visit very much. I was seeing a psychiatrist and taking medication for my health. I applied for social security dissability. In December 2006 I called Jennifer and ask her if she wanted to help me find her sister,Stephanie. I started posting on websites and got a match. We were so excited about it. It was something I never thought would happen. I was really in shock at first and in disbelief. On December 12,2006 I talked to my first born child after 28 years. I felt like I was dreaming and Jennifer was really excited about finding her sister. She had always dreamed of seeing her sister one day. But we were not aware of how difficult this would be on the family. It would not go as well as we thought it would. But in any event nothing could change the fact that we had found her after all these years. And we also learned that I had another grandson, named Nathan. Now I had 2 grandsons in my life and I was happy about that.
