To Infinity & Beyond

Have you ever caught someone doing something down right silly & when they notice you’re watching a sheepish grin crosses their face? We all need to let our hair down a little from time to time & just have fun, no matter who’s watching.

I don’t know when I first noticed that by looking in the large bathroom mirror, which spans the whole width of our guest bathroom, I could also see myself in the full length mirror on the bathroom door behind me. Having the two mirrors so close together is great as you can look in one mirror and see the back of your head in the other.

Last week when I was standing slightly sideways in front of the mirror with my arm raised brushing my hair I suddenly notice another arm, then another & another………While standing there I could see multiple images of myself going on & on like I was moving through space. The words “to infinity & beyond” from the movie The Last Star Fighter raced through my mind.

At first I just moved my hand up & down then I got my whole body in the action. The more I moved & danced lifting my hands over my head the funnier it all looked in the mirror. Boy howdy if my grandkids could only see me now. I’m sure they’d think I was being down right silly.

I even started singing a song from my childhood that goes something like this: Do your ears hang low do they wobble to & fro, can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow, can you throw them over your shoulder like a continental soldier, do your ears hang low.

The purpose of song is to sing it faster & faster each time through. It can be hilarious with actions added. Suddenly I remembered in my teenage years some of us had changed the song a little and switched the word ears to the slang word boobs. After thinking how silly that would look I haven’t been back to looked in the mirror since.
