Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to spread the word that I've finished a new book. "Curve of the Coast" subtitled "A Celebration of the Texas Coast and How I Got There." It has 68 pages presenting 48 of my photos and 12 mostly humorous essays of my life in Kansas, Texas and the Coast. Most of the stories have appeared on OurEcho, but there are at least 3 new ones. I created it online and a preview can be seen at http://www.lulu.com/content/632502.
Of course 48 photos and 68 pages manages to only feature a few highlights of my 72 years--room for more books! I was pleased to be able to utilize my writing, photographic, and page design skills in this one project. From the photo of a young Carol on our pony, the snap of "deadfall" (County Fair Blue Ribbon Winner), through Central Texas shots of bluebonnets and train tracks (Best in Show at the 2001 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Photo Competition) and a still life of rocks and toad, to a view of Bayfront Park in my new home town of Seadrift, Texas, the journey was (and is) fascinating.
Now that I have highspeed wireless internet, and Firefox browser, this project went much smoother than the photo book "A Seadrift Christmas," which documented the Christmas snow that fell on Seadrift in 2004.
Log on and see what you think!
