Glorified Persona

Glorified Persona

Glorified Persona

I’ve seen the Glory, the Glory of man
Where friend turns to foe throughout their deceitful plan

Such intentional bitterness, such undying empty pain
Nothing more delightful than the pursuit of ones own personal gain

Tread on me and I’ll tread on you
Show an act of kindness and swiftly you shall subdue

Smiles and laughter; these are beyond a doubt not allowed
These pleasant characteristics are now lost; lost within the crowd

Tease me with your pleasantries, your flattery and ultimately your sincere concerns
Without flaw your persona has quickly emerged itself, and my trust you must now earn

Trust within this environment is scarce and never genuinely bona fide
So this my friend I must say to you, your trust I no longer can confide

Your demeanor has been a ploy; for you are not whom you proclaim to be
Alas your true characteristics show themselves
And in conclusion the hostility and violence finally diverted from me

Who is your next prey and will they be strong enough to survive?
For trust based on deceit, insecurities and bitterness make it near impossible in the end to thrive

This quest in life is simple; can you not openly see the ultimate plan???
To live your life honest and truthful and be thoughtful and caring to each and every man
