Autumn Colors
It was one of those days when it was to pretty to be inside. A friend asked me if I would like to go for a drive and see the fall colors? and I said yes. I packed my camera, and we packed a couple packages of crackers and flavored water, and off we went. We started heading North, thinking that the colors would be more vibrant up that way, but to our surprise we found it to be the opposite. Apparently old man winter had done his damage with the rain and cold, and a lot of the leaves had already started falling. So after a few miles we turned around and headed South. After about an hour, we noticed the color coming back to the trees.
As we got further south the Autumn leaves were in full color. Trees lined the highway, the sun shone across them and the sky was a cloudless blue. At times we thank GOD for days like these, as old man winter would soon blacken the horizon, and all the beautiful colors we were now seeing would be gone. I, like everyone else loves this time of year.
I have learned that taking a picture from a moving car can be difficult. I have learned you cannot take pictures out of the window you are setting next too, as it will be blurry, and I have found taking pictures looking out the front window is a no no. My son taught me how to build a blind to get the close-ups you will see in some of the pictures I have taken. I also learned that if the scene from the other side of a moving car, is the same as the one looking out your window, you can take a good picture from the roof of the car. Just wrap the strap around your wrist and balance your hand on top of the roof and the pictures will turn out great. As you can see in these photographs.
I hope you enjoy the photographs I have taken, of the fall colors we saw that day.
