Snow Bound A small brown Sparrow is perched above my door. Snow is falling, seem's like more and more. She perches there , warding off the cold. "Oh" how can old man winter be so bold? The wind is whipping around the snow, But she isn't worried, as she has no where to go. Out to the feeder , she does fly, Out into the wind, out into the snow, And up into the sky. She'll be there for a moment, not very long at all. They fly in and out, and up and down. Some at the feeder, some on the ground. Snow flakes stick to the branches of the tree's. Where they seem to like to perch. There little bodies warmed by mother nature. Feathers thick and soft, protects them from Old man winters wrath. They sing songs, and talk to each other. It's funny that animals have learned to Adapt with man, but we haven't learned to adapt with the animals. It's a beautiful thing I see. It's a gift from GOD to me. @ K.L. Farnum |
