Pictures of my Mother

Last night I was looking at some old pictures of my mother. I guess I never realized how pretty she was. When I show them to my 18-year-old son, he says it’s “not right” to have grandmother that looks like that good. I guess I can see his point.

But for all her beauty, my mother once told me that she never felt pretty. She was always taller than most other girls (5’9”) and that made her very self conscious.

After looking at her pictures, I’m not sure what she saw in my father. I’ll post his pictures tomorrow.

Photo 1 – Phenix City, Al around 1950. It looks like they have been fishing by the cane poles hanging out of the window

Photo 2 – Panama City, Fl around 1952.

Photo 3 – Massachusetts, 1954

Photo 4 – University of Alabama, 1956

Photo 5 – Venice, Italy – 1969
