The Matter of Time and Money

Money is scarce
It plays hide and seek
One day you have it
Then it's gone for a week

You try stuffing it in
A pocket or two
But it never lasts long
Disappearing from view

You can hold on real tight
But it just doesn't matter
Your wallet grows thin
Seems it never gets fatter

Time is the essence
That we live in today
Filled in with work
Though we hope there's some play

You schedule things in
Try to fill every minute
But it passes by quick
Better savour what's in it

For too soon it flies by
Days, weeks, then years
So take time to enjoy it
Don't fill it with tears
