What Children Need To Know

Who are the hero's of today?
Have they all gone away?
Have you got a minute to stop and say?
"I've got a little time to play"

Children need to know you care,
That you'll always be right there.
How hard would it be to say?
I love you once or twice a day.

When was the last time that you said,
How proud you were of them?
A voice raised loudly in discontent,
Does not a relationship cement.

Do you praise them when their good?
And gently scold them when their bad.
Are you at their side when they play?
Or watching T.V, a million miles away..

Are you there to wipe away their tears,
And chase away their fears.
Does it look to others as if you do not care?
Does this cut into your heart somewhere?

What will your children grow up to be?
If your not there to help them see.
The things you know that they should do.
The things your parents taught to you.

What does it take to let them know?
That you really love them so.
