Once again, you have written a wonderful story. I have never gone back to Hungary, to visit. But maybe one day, I will.

Best wishes,

Renie Burghardt

Ah and 'tis a Grand day! Ireland! It has been on top of my "I want to visit" list since I was a child. Alas! I fear the one I sought is the one you could barely find when you returned... Still wonderful to read of it, as always!
God Bless! CHER

This is an interesting, enlightening story and so lovingly written! Thank-you, Veronica, for telling us Americans a bit about your Ireland, because I doubt I'll ever get to visit there. It's a beautiful country though.

I love your Irish memories. Even though my family left it many generations ago, it still has a special place in my heart. Someday I hope to see it first hand and your stories will help me see more than the average tourist.

Virginia, I appreciate your comments. Ireland is a beautiful country, not too far away now. I enjoyed your "Washday Blues." I remember the women getting the water from the pump first, heating it and boiling the clothes on top of the range. After all of what you described, smuts from the coalfires, flying around in the air would land on the lovely white shirts. I remember all these little things. Veronica
