Wonderfully said Carol. Putting down roots wherever you're planted is so important---to become part of the community like you have, makes all the differance in the world.

When I think of Texas a picture comes to mind of wildflowers & longhorn cattle.

Wonderful story of how you came to be where you are, Carol. No one would guess you aren't a born Texan! I feel the same way when I drive through the Flint Hills of Kansas. And if you give me rain, I'm at home anywhere in the world!

I love your pictures! That maple in El Dorado is starting to turn color. But after the 90 plus weather today it may change it's mind. Enjoyed your words. as ever, Gail

You transplanted to Texas better than I did, Carol! Somehow I still consider Kansas home, even after all these years. Still I enjoyed your beautiful writing...and photos as well. What a fantastic tree!!

Hi Carol,

Your love of Texas comes through loud and clear here. It's kind of the way I feel about living in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Home is where the heart is--that's more than a cliche. It's the truth, methinks. Thanks for your nice comment earlier this evening.

What a lovely tribute to Texas, Carol. You make me want to visit the state. I feel that way about the Ozarks of Missouri, where I moved to over 20 years ago. Your photos add a wonderful touch to your tribute.

Best wishes,

Renie
