A most delightful poem, K.L.! Nice tribute to these little wonders--I've enjoyed them for nigh on 70 years, in 2 states and extremely varied locales! Carol

Okay this is darn good, short but definately not wanting. I think this one will last forever and has the potential for world wide fame. I can imagine it in a movie and on gretting cards or on a framed poster in a coorperate office somewhere.

Your delightful poem brought back memories of my childhood long ago in Georgia, where my sister, brother and I chased fireflies almost every summer evening as soon as it got dark. We called them lightening bugs, and after catching them in an old mayonnaise jar and watching them glow for a few minutes, we always let them go and fly away again. In our innocent thinking, we assumed the fireflies enjoyed this "game" since they came back night after night to our back yard!
