As I have said before, you should wear a poster that says "National Treasure." There are three generations out there who have no clue what life was like while you grew up. My mother, eighty-six now, has eleven great-grandchildren, from the ages of one year to twenty-two years. She lives two thousand miles from the older seven, who have had no opportunity to hear the stories I grew up with...and have put many in my novels. What you write, Wanda, is not only entertaining, it's our own American history! Well done, as always...Barbara

I too enjoyed your memories tremendously, and as (was it Barbara?) said, they are our American history! So splendid to get them written down for future generations. Otherwise how will they know? Carol

Wanda,
Loved reading this article about your early years, and the black and white photograph with you in it as a three year old, adds luster to an already shining example of mighty fine writing!
Thank-you for sharing the vivid details of life "Back Then." Your memory is astounding!
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.

I cherish hearing/reading your memories because my Dad was born in 1918, and I never asked him to tell me much about his childhood...what a mistake that was on my part. Thank you for sharing your memories here for all of us to ponder. I really like the photo of tiny 3 yr.old Wanda next to the homemade merry-go-round...darling of you! ~ Susan in Ga.
