And a gem of a story, Nancy. Your every word painted your visit so perfectly. I'd give my eye teeth (well maybe not the eye teeth) to visit Africa for the wildlife and interesting people. Maybe next year. Meanwhile I'll live her beauty through your eyes. Thanx.........Kath

What a terrific story, Nancy. It should be in a travel magazine or some such. You have a way of making the reader feel as if she were right there with you. I could almost see that starry, starry sky and hear that deafening silence.

This is a vivid, beautiful and accurate description of that area of South Africa. What memories it brought back. The clarity of the stars, like a fistful of diamonds of every size thrown accross a drape of black velvet. The smell of a Braai-vleis with boere-vors wafting through the clean African air, all floated through my memory and tore at my heart. I lived with that sort of thing for the first 19 years of my life. Thank you for the brief voyage back.
