This makes me realize that I can start small with my writing and keep expanding on it. "The Great American Novel" stymies many writers who fear putting those first words on paper.

Good point, Ginger! Just work on a few areas at a time, so one is not overwhelmed with thinking "I'm writing a book!" Gail, I love these apron sprints, fun to see how they evolve. Aprons are so indicative of a way of life that is extremely rare these days--mother as a homemaker, using that apron as she worked cleaning, cooking, mothering, to keep presentable should folks drop by. Horray for Gail turning a half dozen writings into today's touching memories. I'm a child of the last of the aprons your story reflects upon I fear, my mom being the last one in our family to don perky and immaculate aprons for all occassions. Loved this sentimental offering. Thank you dear. Kath

Brought back some wonderful memories of my mom wearing aprons when I was small. But, somewhere along the way she gave them up...and I don't recall ever wearing one. Such a handy item - maybe I'll start now?! Thanks Gail...

Dear Gail,
I've truly enjoyed reading many of your stories and poems all at one sitting in the early hours of this morning, and after reading about your Mother, her aprons, and your remembrances of same, I can honestly say I would have loved to have known your Mother.
Sincerely,
Sandi in FL.
