Kathe,
Your story about panning for gold makes the process come alive. I panned once near Dillon and Nye, Montana. It was a blast, but I am sorry I did not have you along to teach me the ins and outs. I live near Cooke City, Montana at Crandall, Wyoming. I listen to the panning stories at the local watering hole and I think you could hold your own with the best. Thanks for a good read. And, thank you for making comments on my story. Sandra

And yet another wonderful yarn spun by the mistress of spinning--Kathe Campbell. Good one, Kath.

Another great yarn from your big tall mountain. Loved it. Keep them coming, Kathe.

The real Mother Lode is your treasure chest of memories. Thanks for sharing another one! Panning must be a younger person's sport, not for these old knees! GrannyJo

Kath, great story. Years ago, a friend invited me to go on a trip with him to do 'a little gold hunting'. I didn't go, and he didn't find any gold. There was one very important part that you left out of your story....no directions to where the GOLD is...LOL

Lovely depiction of gold mining, Kath. I never knew, having lived a deprived life (kidding)! Seriously, panning for gold is something I have never had the pleasure of doing -- yet. Maybe one day you'll take me?
