Sounds like your mom was raised the same way my parents and grandparents were, on REAL food. I'm only 26 years behind my 92 year old father and had grandparents who lived to 99 and 101 eating the good stuff so it makes you wonder.
Nothing sadder than losing your mom or seeing her decline.
Thanks

A poignant accounting of the changes that come with aging.

You definitely captured the heartbreaking decline as people age, but it sounds like you are on the right track to fight it all the way - keep it up!

Nancy it sounds like your mother was raised as I was. Oh how I loved all the good home cooking. Yes I'm getting up there in years but have lived almost 20 year longer than my mother. So it can't be all that bad a living. Think of the memories you have been storing up to tide you over the coming loss. as always, Gail

Poignant and true. We all need to learn from this.
