Dear Wanda,

I hated to see this story come to an end. But what a touching ending you gave us. Of all your readers here at OurEcho, I alone have had the rare privilege of hearing you read this story aloud, chapter by chapter at our former writer's group here in Manhattan, KS. I enjoyed it then and have done so again here. Thank you for sharing your memories.

I hate to see this story come to an end. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your semi-memoirs, and I have learned much about the lives of teachers during that period. You, Wanda, are a national treasure in your own right! B. Carpenter

I have enjoyed reading your story in this leisurely manner. I'm also proud that as state archivist for the Kansas Authors Club I placed the copy of your book you donated in the club's 'Kansas Collection' preserved with other books by Kansas authors in the Spencer Research Library in Lawrence, Kansas. Well done Wanda, Gail

I see you posted your "book" about 2 yrs. back, Wanda! I discovered it yesterday, and have enjoyed going "back in time" with you!

It is so wonderful that we will meet those long-ago friends again one day!
Along with my Dad (B. 1912) and Mom (B. 1916).
I came along in 1950, but my siblings had the "privilege" of often walking a few miles up the road to a one-room schoolhouse.
Thanks again and I pray you are doing well!
XOXOXO
Cher
