Some great ideas. Thanks. We could even give our great grand children library cards or give a book in their honor for birthdays or graduations. This is a 'must do' idea. as ever Gail

Anything to do with books is a big PLUS in my eyes. Some great ideas here. Children need to read more books, in this computer society where so much interaction is done electronically. Nothing will ever replace a book!

Such good ideas! We tend to think we have to do something "big" for it to be worthwhile. Not so! Imagine the possible impact when donating a new book to your library! You never know who might read it, and find their life changed forever. Carol

Excellent worthwhile ideas. I'm very partial to the adult literacy program having taught adults to read. If we performed acts of kindness in half of your suggestions, betcha we wouldn't be burdened with adults who can't read. Right? Kath

Doing something for others is one of the best ways to make the world a better place to live in, rather it is holding a door for someone or letting them go through the check-out line in front of you when they only have a couple of items & your cart is full. I like the idea of spreading the blessings forward.

Virginia, I like your ideas, and I love your stories! You have me wanting to nudge my daughter into reading to her three year old son daily, beginning tomorrow. He's only three, but that's not too young.
