Reading your story this morning has just been a delightful way to begin a day. It takes a special story to make me "tear-up," and this one did. It rings with truth. No wonder you are the strong, determined "red-head" you are! B. Carpenter

Kathe, I too have started my day being moved to tears reading a wonderful story. It's marvelous to have found such a wealth of love to add to that you already had! I'm so glad you found your other family. Carol

What a heartbreaking turn of events for you and your biological mother! At least you have photos and those precious phone conversations to remember, although you never met in person. And, a brother to enjoy. Maudie and George were, of course, your REAL parents...and loved you dearly.

HURRAH! for brother; how odd, they had "always" known. WOW at the things we worry over that are of NO consequence-
I just read your story in my Email and rushed here to comment; here's only the second ECHO story that brought tears.
Your sharing your heart and soul is wonderful as always,Kathe. I knew you'd had awesome adoptive parents but am proud to know that you found this other great family also!
Always, CHER

Hello Kathe,

Just today in the Buffalo News, a woman who was adopted wrote about the basic human right of people to know their heritage. Her piece was in response to research make public recently about how important it is for people to know simply who their parents were. Ireland now has a contact register where people can file and if both sides register, a reunion is facilitated, if that is desired. Your story is precious. I can see why you feel your life came full circle. You must be feeling complete. Beautiful story. A win for you and your two families. Veronica

Thanks Veronica. I have now embellished this story with much more dialog and the very moment I met my half-brother and family. It was such fun to write and where sometimes reunions dont work well, mine did, a huge event in my life to relate. Kath

Kathe, this is just lovely. I could almost hear you and your biological Mother talking at double-speed when you had that first conversation. I know your parents loved you as much as if you had been their own - and your love for them shines through so clearly. You're so lucky that you have your brother now that the others have passed away. Wow - what a wonderful story.
